East Malaysia II: Sandakan Central Market, Sabah

The Sandakan Central Market - A lot of surprises you will discover here
Overview

A giant grouper, or more commonly known as 龙趸 in Chinese .

Molluscs sold in this market

Tuna

Inside the market

A barracuda,   梭魚

A seller showed off his catch

Some unknown fishes, must be look for Teowchew stype steamfish

Upon the request from the locals after learning we are from Thailand,  they asked Kookai to  put up the famous Thai Movie "Ong Bak" elephant tusk posture. It seems that the best thing these people know about Thailand is Tony Jaa and "Ong Bak"

Guess what is it? At first we thought it is either fish roe or raw pepper, in fact it is kind of seaweed, locally known as "Latok".

Another kind of seaweed found in this market

A souvenir shop outside the market

Impressive isn't it? Meats are sold in refrigerator to keep its freshness

Tuna - think of shasimi, don't you?

Sun rise, we were in this market really early of the morning
Poisonous puffer fish
